6. Sports Equipment

■Bikes
PW consider a carton bicycle box as the only suitable packing. A bile packed in other material
than a box (e.g. plastic cover) must be tagged with a limited release tag. Mark on the limited
release tag ‘’unsuitably packed’’.

Charges
A bike will always be excess baggage on all PW flights and excess charges shall apply as per below where weight concept applies.

■Diving Equipment
  The diving equipment may consist of: Wet suit, Vest, Socks, Mask, Shoes, Webs, Knife, empty
Oxygen cylinders and regulator. The cylinders must be empty and battery and lamp
disconnected.

Charges
The standard baggage rules apply for diving equipment. Where allowance is exceeded apply the special excess baggage charge for one (1) dive equipment up to 20kgs for one way travel as follows;

■Fishing Equipment
  Normal weight allowance applies. For every kilo in excess apply the normal applicable excess
Charge. Suitably packed fishing equipment consisting of not more than two rods, one reel, one
landing net, on pair of fishing boots and one fishing tackle box is considered on piece. Where
piece allowance, apply for extra piece.

Golf  Equipment
  The special rules and charges for golf equipment apply on PW operated flights.
Where weight concept applies, a fixed charge/flat fee/ applies when the free allowance is
exceeded.

Exceptions weight
Pole Vault and Short Put

On PW pole vaults and short put are not accepted on PW aircraft. For special sporting events where a dedicated aircraft is used exception can be made depending on type of aircraft and provided special handling arrangements are made in advance with stations concerned.

 

Kayak and Canoe

On PW: Kayaks and Canoes are not accepted as baggage. Contact the cargo department for shipping information.

Water and Snow Ski Equipment
PW apply special rules and charges for snow-skis, snow boards and water-skis.
■ One ski equipment special includes one pair of skis or a snowboard and bindings plus 2 poles
and a pair of ski boots. 

Where piece concept is applicable, one ski equipment is considered one piece.

■ If ski equipment is within the free allowance: No charge
■ If in excess the following charge applies:
 1st set 33.3 percent of excess piece rate
 2nd set 100 percent of excess piece rate

Where weight concept is applicable, Ski or Snowboard equipment weighing up to 20kg is included in the free allowance.
■ Special excess baggage charges apply on PW operated flights when in excess of the free
Allowance.
■ For one (1) equipment up to 20kg for one way travel the following flat fee applies;

SURFBOARDS – All Types including Windsurf
General:
Policy applies for all type surfboards’ incl. Windsurf mast, sail(s), boom and stabilizer.
■ Maximum allowed as checked baggage: Length 290 cm (114 inches) weight 32 kg (70Ibs)
Height depending aircraft type but never higher than 25 cm on f50 maximum size board
allowed is 150x50x40cm for longer and heavier surf equipment: Contact cargo.

Where weight concept applies, Surface equipment is excluded from the free allowance, except boards measuring up to 107 cm (43 inches). A fixed charge/flat fee applies for a surfboard. Below excess baggage charges apply on all PW operated flights.
The excess baggage charge applies for one (1) surf up to 20kgs for one way travel is as follows:

Exception
The standard excess bag charge applies. Except boogie boards measuring up to 107 cm (43 inch) may considered as 1 piece of baggage with dimension 158 cm (62 inch) irrespective of the actual dimensions. They may be included in the free allowance. If the free allowance is exceeded the standard excess tariffs apply.

■ One (1) excess baggage charge is always due for each equipment.
■ One equipment may consist of a board, mast, sail and boom
■ One kite surfing equipment may consist of a board and kite bag.

Human Remains and Ashes of a Deceased Person
Human Remains in the coffin is not accepted as baggage contact cargo department.

Ashes of deceased person

  1. Passenger(s) may carry ashes of deceased person to the cabin.
  2. The ashes shall be carried in a sealed urn.
  3. The urn shall fit under the seat or the overhead bin. It is not permitted to place the urn on a seat or in the direct view of other passengers.
  4. The passenger may pass through security without having to open the urn provided a copy of death certificate or letter from crematorium is submitted to the security personnel.

Pets/AVIH

Only cats and dogs will be accepted through Precision Air Cargo

For charges contact cargo department.

The documents  required include:

  1. Current vaccination certificate. For dogs, Rabies and Parvo virus vaccination are required.
  2. Export permit issued by the Ministry of Livestock Development.
  3. A health certificate
  4. An import permit

 

The container requirements will be verified to ensure that:

  • It is strong to prevent damage by the pet.
  • Leak proof, securely fastened and well ventilated.
  • Spacious enough to allow the pet to stand in the natural position turn around and lie down.
  • The container should be labeled or imprinted on three sides with a ‘This way up’ orientation label and on one side with one ‘Live Animal’ label.
